Ashleigh Wallace

Ashleigh is the Managing Director of Sap House. As one of the founders of Sap House, they are highly devoted to delivering best quality work. By ensuring that every cog in the machine of reading, from author to editor to reader, is satisfied with the work that is produced, they maintain a healthy environment for all who enjoy books within their house. Their goal is to ensure that every group of individuals feels seen and heard.

As the Managing Director of Sap House, Ashleigh enjoys helping everyone who needs it at any time, making themselves available to assist at every level of production to ensure that only the best quality emerges from the house. Their management role means they will assist in the production of the project as a whole. Their responsibilities include managing deadlines, tracking down information, making final decisions, and working with other members of the team. 

Ashleigh’s leadership experience comes from building and maintaining strong working relationships with their peers over the course of several years. These skills were honed during their tenure as a First-Year Ambassador for the online literary magazine Savant-Garde during the beginning of their CW&P journey at Sheridan College. They efficiently complete projects with a strong sense of teamwork and leadership. Their genres of interests include science fiction, fantasy and works with LGBTQIA+ themes.

Sienna Bostwick

Sienna is the Senior Editor of Sap House. As a Senior Editor, they will be responsible for the substantive and copyediting of the manuscripts, and be the liaison between the author and their manuscripts. As part of their responsibilities, they will communicate with fellow members of Sap House to assure quality content for the publication. This task will be accomplished through thorough copyediting and substantive edit checks made in communication with the authors. The Senior Editor will be responsible for overseeing the transformation and finalization of the draft into publication. Together with the management and publication teams, they will complete a final product that is edited to the standards of the publishing house. 

 

Sienna’s interests are spread across multiple genres, from fiction to nonfiction and even poetry. They have a special interest in books that have LGBTQ+ themes intermixed in the fantasy genre. Also, they have an individual interest in screenwriting and screenplays, and have collaborated on several edited drafts of screenplays. 

 

Their experience comes from working with the online literary magazine, Savant-Garde, as the Lead Fiction Editor. As Lead Fiction Editor, they have worked in tandem with other board members of the team in order to assess manuscript submissions for proper quality and coherence. Also, they were responsible for communicating with the authors on their manuscripts and copyediting pieces from submission to publication. Through this experience, they have much to offer in the way of editorial knowledge learned through working on real published pieces.

Krysta Belcourt

Publicity and Marketing Director

As Sap House’s Publicity and Marketing Director, Krysta is responsible for creating, organizing, and executing all promotional materials and publicity campaigns for upcoming works. From press kits to giveaways, she works with all forms of media to tailor promotional campaigns to each client. Her goal as a publicist is to maximize each work’s potential by reaching as much of its target audience as possible. 

 

Krysta is an avid Young Adult fantasy and sci-fi lover, with a particular interest in LGBTQIA+ stories, who specializes in promotion and marketing. She is currently finishing her degree in the Honours Bachelor Creative Writing & Publishing program at Sheridan College. While attending Sheridan College, she sharpened and refined her love of reading into tangible skills by researching, crafting, and budgeting marketing campaigns for multiple projects.  

 

As an Indigo Books employee of 5 years, Krysta has had an insight into the bookselling industry that will prove to be an invaluable asset when planning and executing the marketing and distribution of future projects. Her experience at Indigo has given her insight into what booksellers and readers desire when looking for their next favourite read. With a love for the entire publishing process, Krysta’s true love is watching a book begin as a manuscript and end in the hands of readers.
